    A Welcome from the Headteacher

    Dear Parents and Carers

On behalf of the children, staff and governors of Burnham-on-Crouch Primary School, I would like to welcome you to our new website and to our school.

Burnham-on-Crouch Primary School is a vibrant, happy and successful school with a team of enthusiastic and committed staff. We offer a warm and caring environment which fosters a positive ethos, promoting respect for each other, our school and the wider environment.

We offer a broad, balanced and creative curriculum which recognises the individual needs of our children, seeking to engage and motivate every learner to enable them to reach their potential and preparing them for the challenges of their futures.

Staff work closely with parents and governors to develop effective partnerships and we welcome and encourage the involvement of both these groups in the life of the school. Parent helpers make a major contribution to many different areas of the curriculum. We recognise the important role that our school plays in our local community and seek to create purposeful links with local groups and participate in community events wherever possible.

We believe that the well-being of every child matters and the needs of our children are at the heart of everything we do. Our pupils develop a sense of belonging and ownership through the important roles they play in the running of our school. Our Head Boy and Head Girl lead our team of Prefects who display maturity and pride as they carry out their duties; our Peer Supporters offer assistance with friendship issues; our Playleaders encourage positive play; the Green Hats look after the school allotment; and the School Council ensures that pupil opinions are listened to and acted upon.

We are delighted to have been awarded the Healthy Schools Award in recognition of our commitment to educating children about the importance of their health and well-being. (We were particularly commended on the quality of our school meals service and the range of physical activity on offer to our pupils). The school has received many other awards including the Diana Anti-Bullying Award, FA Charter Standard status and Investors in People.

We are all extremely proud of our school and we are always pleased to show prospective parents around so that you can see for yourself what we have to offer your children. To find out more please do come and visit.

    Yours sincerely,

    Nicky Tothill
    Headteacher

    Our Vision

At Burnham-on-Crouch Primary School we believe in learning for life through a child centred curriculum that is relevant, inspiring and fun. All of our children are given the opportunity to achieve their full potential and develop the life skills that will allow them to face the challenges of their futures. We want our children to leave school equipped with the skills, attitudes and understanding of how to be a good citizen. We aim to be at the centre of our local community encouraging families, the community and schools to learn and work together in partnership. At Burnham-on-Crouch Primary School we take care of ourselves and others, and respect the environment within our community and the world around us. Our children know that their teachers will help them learn in the way that suits them best with opportunities to share ideas and learn from each other. Our supportive and caring ethos gives children the confidence to learn from their mistakes and approach each day positively, enthusiastically and with a smile.
